Our research is carefully designed to provide institutional investors with up-to-date findings including data and statistics to effectively understand the Black asset manager universe and to monitor the progress of transformational initiatives undertaken by the investment community. Whilst there is widespread engagement amongst industry participants including fund managers, asset consultants, retirement funds and trade unions regarding the democratisation of investment capital in SA, there exists very little, if any, respectable research to ably evaluate this sector. The research undertaken by 27four allows investors and policy decision makers to assess the many challenges presented and celebrate the many achievements realised, thereby providing a foundation upon which future strategy can be developed. BEE Fund Manager Survey This is the first survey of its kind in South Africa where Black asset managers are not held back from participation due to short track records and limited assets under management. This survey provides investors with a list of all Black asset managers in South Africa and their investment products as well as the performance of their products relative to their specific benchmarks. Participation in the survey is restricted to fund managers that satisfy certain minimum BEE credentials. To view this survey, please subscribe. What SA's top black fund managers are up to 27four is committed to promoting the strengths and capabilities of black fund managers in an effort to level the investment playing field in South Africa. In this publication we cast a spotlight on the hard-to-ignore ingenuity of mature and a new breed of black fund manager maestros. By doing so we offer institutional investors the scope to broaden your investment opportunity set by tapping into the changing demographics and talent that is emerging in a post apartheid South Africa.
